Guidelines

Classes begin the first week of September and through May. Registration is closed from February 1st until June 1st, due to recital conflicts.   Weekly dance instruction including both TAP and BALLET classes with age-appropriate HIP HOP and Yoga mixed in. Classes consist of a maximum of ten dancers, less depending on the dance space provided as we strive for quality, not quantity.  Some schools allow multiple classes to be held.  If your school only allows for one class and is full, dancers can be registered and placed on the wait list – full classes indicated in red on the class schedule page. Email confirmation should be received upon registering dancer.  Classes with three or less dancers; will be held for 45 minutes or less and/or terminated.  If your school is closed or cancels a dance class for ANY reason – weather, holidays, field trips, etc.- we are not responsible for a make-up class. If we cancel a class for any reason; a credit will be given should the class not be rescheduled.  We do not follow public school calendars nor VPK schedules, holidays, or time off is listed on our website. Our dance program is not a movement class, we strive to teach basic ballet and tap techniques along with terminology. Dancers must be three years of age and in a three’s classroom (not combined), fully potty trained and registered to participate in our program.  Dancers are not automatically signed up from previous seasons.  *Dancing Little Stars is hereinafter referred to as DLS.

DANCE INSTRUCTOR:  Instructors are to teach dance and they may not know answers to questions or provide incorrect information.  Questions should be directed to, Adair Walker, owner.  Some instructors utilize a cell phone to play music in dance class along with using our app to take attendance. 

SUMMER CLASSES:  An eight-week summer dance program begins after our dance recital.  Dancers are not automatically signed up if registered in the previous season.  No registration fee nor a summer recital.  See ‘Summer’ on class schedule for a listing of schools that participate

TUITION:   Monthly tuition is due by the 1^st of each month and made directly to DLS via our website. A $25.00 registration due upon registering.  DO NOT SEND dance tuition to your school as your school, nor dance instructors are allowed to take payments.  Tuition is based on the dance season, August thru May and are broken into monthly payments for your convenience.  Dancers who start classes mid-month will be prorated and we do not pro-rate for missed classes due to your schedule conflicts.  Payments are accepted at www.dancinglittlestarsatlanta.com.  Email confirmation should be received for each payment made.

• LEARNING CARE GROUP SCHOOL TUITION: Pay weekly to your school. Registration and Recital fees are paid directly to DLS.
• PARENT PORTAL is for Registration, payments, set up auto pay or view financial history; select the parent portal button located on DLS   Log in by entering email address and password (you set up).  Select ‘forgot password’ if needed, do not create another account.    Automatic payments are processed on the 1st of each month and expire on June 1st unless summer registration has been selected for your dancer OR upon withdrawal from the dance program
• LATE FEE & RETURN FEE: Payment not received by the 1st of the month, will incur a $15.00 late fee.  Avoid a late fee and enroll in auto pay.   
• NON-PAYMENTS:  Dancer is subject to termination for delinquent accounts and non-contact to plan for payment.   

Email is our main form of communication; Do NOT ‘OPT OUT’ of our emails when registering.  If you select this option, we are not responsible for information not received; recital, days off, etc.

Add Dancing Little Stars Inc. via thestudiodirector.biz to your contacts. This will be the email future communications will come from.  It is your responsibility to contact us if you do not receive an email from us within two days of registration. Otherwise, we will assume you are receiving all of our emails. We send most communications through email.

CONTACTING OUR OFFICE:  When contacting our office either by phone or email, indicate dancer name and school name along with a brief explanation of why you are contacting us.  This will make for a quick response as we may need to get an answer from another source prior to responding to your inquiry.

We do not send progress reports, dance class information is on our website under “News.”  We encourage visits to dance class at least once a quarter and ask not to visit the first month of dance class.  When a visitor watches class, we have found through our experience, dancers do not dance (sometimes yours and sometimes others).  Visitors are to watch from outside of the dance area, through a window or another room so that dancers are not aware that you are there until class is completed.  Visitors can be disruptive to the dance instruction and we want to retain the attention of all dancers.  Photos or videotaping other dancers is not allowed. Only school staff and DLS representatives are permitted to assist dancers in getting dressed or use the restroom; as those representatives are screened per requirements of the Division of Children and Families. 

Payment must be made for dancers to participate in dance class.  If a dancer transfers to another school and/or dance class, there is no guarantee that a spot will be available.  We must be notified if a dancer transfers and/or dancer withdrawal must be in writing to us.  Refer to recital information concerning transfer and costume orders.  If notification is not given by dancer parent/guardian to DLS, then any refund is void.   Schools are not responsible for informing the status of a dancer.  We do not “hold” a dancer’s spot from month to month, unless prior approval by DLS

We make every attempt to discuss and correct any concern(s) that may arise due to a dancer’s behavior during dance class.  We give two weeks in a row of certain concerns prior to notifying.  If not resolved, DLS reserves the right to terminate any dancer’s enrollment for any reason and at any time.  Withdrawal by parent/guardian may be given by written notice, for any reason and at any time.  Online waiver and guidelines policy must be ‘accepted’ to participate in our program. DLS reserves the right to use photos taken during class or at the recital to include, but not limited to our program promotions, social media, displays and training material.  Names will not be indicated except recital program (first and last initial only).
